The farewell ceremony for Major General KMN Kulasekara RWP RSP psc was held at the Regiment Centre on 15 April 2025 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.
The Regimental Centre welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, the salute of the proud, dignified ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Regimental parade Square. After that ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument took place. Moreover, to mark the event a group photograph was taken to highlight the event.
Towards the end of the day’s program, a farewell dinner was arranged at the Officer's Mess premises. Further, Chief Gust was accompanied to Dinner at the Officer's Mess.
Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch, has delivered the customary farewell speech on behalf of all Officers of the Gemunu Watch to extend a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the service of him. Moreover, to recall the salient milestone which was archived during his career, a special video was played during the event.
On 16 April 2025 Officers and Other Ranks offered in a moving gesture, honoured him in a street line farewell as their vehicle began to move out of the premises.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Gemunu Watch extended their heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch. They wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful, and prosperous life.
