RVAPL TROOPS ORGANIZE A DHAMMA SERMON
Troops serving at the Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) – Yakkala took part in series of events organized by Administrative staff under the guidance of Brigadier Senaka Dassanayake, Commandant, RVAPL and supervised by Brigadier Kapila Ranaweear Deputy Commandant on account of first working day of the year 2018 and Duruthu full moon Poya day was held on Tuesday(02).

First session of the day’s programme inaugurated by hoisting the National flag by the Commandant, RVAPL followed by recital of the National Anthem and the Army song.

Meanwhile a two-minute silence was observed to hounour the memory of fallen War Heroes before reading the national service pledge in accordance with state sector policies by a senior officer serving at the RVAPL Factory

Later, a formal troop address was made by the Commandant- RVAPL as per the next event of the itinerary.

Troops employed as Machine Operators together with members of other departments started routine works under the pirith chanting as the final event of the first session .

In the meantime, a Dhamma sermon ‘Bana’ organized by troops of RVAPL at Yakkala, on account of ‘Duruthu Full Moon Poya’ was held as the second phase of the day’s programme.

The religious ceremony, including a colourful procession and a Dhamma sermon got underway under the supervision of Commandant, and Deputy Commandant of RVAPL.

The sermon was conducted in order to transfer merits to fallen War Heroes and invoke blessings on serving troops and civil employees of the RVAPL as well as to inspire the troops in the Ranaviru Apparels for religious activities.

On the same occasion, a newly built lighting system around the Buddha Statue at RVAPL with the patronage of Commandant of RVAPL, was opened amid the blessing.

Venerable Meda Gamuwe Wijaya Maithree Nayaka Tero of Indigolla Viharaya, the Registrar of the Ramanna Nikaya and Piriven Teaching Instructor of Ministry of Education delivered an interesting Dhamma sermon during the religious programme, held at RVAPL premises ,Yakkala.

A large crowd including the Commandant, Deputy Commandant together with senior officers, officers, other ranks, civil employees in the RVAPL and Civilians of the area participated in the event.
