The newly-appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army and Chairman of Board Management (BoM)of Ranaviru Apparel ( RVAPL) , Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana made his first formal visit to Ranavieu Apparel Factories at Alawwa and Yakkala for an inspection of both camps, today (09 May 2018).
On arrival at the main entrance to the Alawwa Factory, the visiting DCOS was warmly received by Brigadier Senaka Dassanayake, the Commandant – RVAPL together with , Brigadier Kapila Ranaweera, Deputy Commandant and Factory Manager of Ranaviru Apparel Alawwa, in the company of several other senior Officers.
A drive-pass Guard Turnout presented by troops at factory on arrival saluted the visiting DCOS in accordance with military traditions.
Later the visiting DCOS laid a foundation stone for proposed Officers’ Mess building at the auspicious minute during a simple religious ceremony conducted at the venue
Meanwhile the newly appointed DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army and Chairman of RVAPL planted a tree sapling at the camp premises as a symbol of memory .
The DCOS of the Sri Lanka Army and Chairman of Board of Management -( RVAPL , Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana together with Commandant, Deputy Commandant and several other key appointment holders made a visit to the ongoing construction site of the proposed five storied other ranker’s accommodation building and Non Commissioned Officers’ Club at the factory . During his inspection visit, the DCOS made several inquiries into various aspects of on-going Constructions and other facilities including infrastructure facilities , living condition, ration procedures and personal problems of men and women serving at the Factory.
Afterward, Several Officers of RVAPL Alawwa and representatives of Corps of Engineer Services who are responsible, for its construction explained different areas of on-going project to the DCOS during the site visit. The visiting DCOS also encouraged them to complete those projects as early as possible.
As per the next event of the day’s programme , he visited to each and every sections of the factory while listening to briefings made by Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers of sections on their roles and tasks as well as factions of the production lines.
Later the visiting DCOS of SL Army and Chairman of RVAPL shared couple of views with Officers and Other Ranks during an All Rank tea arrangement at the Factory Lobby before end the day’s programme at the Alawwa factory.
As per the second session of the day’s itinerary, on the same day afternoon the DCOS arrived to RVAPL factory at yakkala, in order to inspect factory process , all facilities including welfare and infrastructure as well as to address the troop and share his views with them.
On arrival Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, the DCOS of SL Army was warmly welcomed by the Commandant together with Deputy Commandant at the main entrance to the camp at Yakkala. A drive-pass Guard Turnout saluted the newly appointed DCOS and Chairman of RVAPL BoM.
As the first event of the day’s progarmme the DCOS of the Sri Lanka Army and Chairman of RVAPL planted a “Sandun†sapling at the camp premises to mark his camp visit.
In the meantime a newly constructed Office for Factory Coordinator and Mechanical Store Room at Yakkal Factory premises under the guidance of Brigadier Senaka Dassanayake, Commandant – RVAPL was declared opened by the Visiting DCOS amid religious blessings.
The visiting DCOS, afterwards inspected production lines and other sections of the Factory , Accommodation facilities of troops , Gymnasium , Medical Room, Non Commissioned Officers’ Club, Swimming Pool Complex and administrate office ect before he address nearly 1000 troops including differently able War Heroes who gathered at the Other Rank’s Mess.
Afterwards, in his address to the troops serving at both Factories assured all possible assistance to upgrade the standard of uniform and to be a total high quality uniform provider of SL Army while maintaining a goodwill among the members of the SL Army.
Further he underlined the importance of discipline at all levels as Army personnel dedicated to the Organization. He also pointed out the need of maintaining an excellent relations among the coworkers as a team who are working for a common goal.
At the same speech extended his sincere gratitude to commandant and all ranks including differently able War Heroes of the RVAPL for paving way for Factor’s success
Towards the end of the day’s proceedings, the DCOS placed his signature in the Visitors’ book as a memory of his visit to RVAPL
