Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, officially pinned rank insignias on the newly promoted Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers during a distinguished ceremony held on 21st May at the Regimental Centre, SLE.
The event commenced with the formal pinning of rank insignias by Major General Amarapala, marking a moment of great honour for the officers. Among those promoted to the ranks of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel were, Colonel K A D P Sugathadasa USP, Colonel (Project), Plant Engineer Brigade , Colonel B K T N Batuwanthudawa USP, General Staff Officer I (Training), 1 Corps , Lieutenant Colonel W M A B Warnasooriya USP psc SLE, Commanding Officer, 7 Field Engineer Regiment and Lieutenant Colonel D W G I D Somakeerthi USP psc SLE, Commanding Officer, 1 Field Engineer Regiment.
Following the adornment of the new insignias, Major General Lanka Amarapala conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted senior officers. He commended them for their dedication, professionalism, and exceptional service, expressing confidence in their ability to shoulder greater responsibilities in the future. The ceremony concluded with a warm and engaging interaction, during which the promoted seniors officers expressed their sincere gratitude to the Colonel Commandant for his steadfast leadership, mentorship, and unwavering support.
