Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers inaugurated the fully renovated Senior Officers’ Block with higher standards at the Regimental Officers’ Mess on Friday, 06th June 2025.
Two new chalets were constructed for the Centre Commandant and Deputy Centre Commandant, offering comfortable and modern accommodations. In addition, the existing Senior Staff Officers’ Block was comprehensively renovated and modernized including upgraded facilities for the GSO I (Trg/Coord), SO I (A), and SO I (Log). The upgraded accommodation facilities at the Regimental Centre SLE, marks the fulfilment of a long-standing requirement to provide enhanced living and working facilities. This infrastructure improvement not only elevates the standard of amenities but also fosters professionalism and promotes the well-being of senior staff officers, empowering them to carry out their duties with greater focus, efficiency, and confidence.
Major General Lanka Amarapala commended the 4(V) Engineer Regiment work team for their meticulous planning, dedication, and high-quality execution of the renovation project. Their efforts were pivotal in transforming the premises into a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing facility aligned with current standards.
The event was graced by the presence of Senior Officers, including Brigadier F Joseph USP, Centre Commandant SLE, Brigadier H K P Karunathilaka RSP, Commander Field Engineer Brigade along with some Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps.
