Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, conducted an official visit to 4(V) Engineer Regiment SLE, Ratmalana on 02nd June 2025.
The day’s events commenced with a ceremonial Guard Turnout accorded to the Colonel Commandant, upon the arrival at the Main Entrance by troops of the regiment and warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel H P U Dasanayake USP SLE, Commanding Officer of the 4(V) Engineer Regiment SLE followed by posed for a group photograph to commemorate the occasion followed by a comprehensive briefing delivered by the Commanding Officer on operational duties, ongoing projects and unit administration matters.
Major General Lanka Amarapala addressed the troops, and he emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness. He also urged troops to abstain from illegal and drug related activities. Furthermore, he elaborated on the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative launched by the Sri Lankan Government, underscoring the responsibility of every military personnel to actively contribute to this nationaleffort. Following his address, Major General Lanka Amarapala engaged in a cordial interaction with all ranks during all ranks tea.
The official visit concluded with Major General Lanka Amarapala signing the Visitors’ Book, where he expressed his appreciation for the professionalism, dedication, and high standards maintained by the regiment. The event was attended by Brigadier F Joseph USP, Centre Commandant of the SLE.
