OFFICIAL VISIT OF MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA RWP RSP ndc psc TO 7 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, conducted an official visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment in Minneriya on 27th.

Upon his arrival, the Colonel Commandant was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout at the Main Entrance by troops of the regiment. He was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel WMAB Warnasooriya USP psc SLE, Commanding Officer of the 7 Field Engineer Regiment. The day’s events commenced with a symbolic tree planting ceremony at the camp premises A group photograph followed to commemorate the occasion.

Subsequently, the Commanding Officer delivered a comprehensive briefing in the Conference Hall, outlining the regiment’s operational roles, ongoing deployments, and overall performance. Continuing the official program, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops at the Gymnasium. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness. He also urged troops to abstain from illegal and drugrelated activities. Commending their dedication and resilience, he acknowledged the regiment’s vital contributions to both military operations and national development. Furthermore, he elaborated on the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative launched by the Sri Lankan Government, underscoring the responsibility of every military personnel to actively contribute to this national effort. Following his address, Major General Lanka Amarapala engaged in a cordial interaction with all ranks during all ranks tea.

Then, Major General Lanka Amarapala toured various sections of the camp, Later, the Colonel Commandant convened a professional session with the officers of the unit, discussing matters of strategic interest and plans.

Finally, the official visit concluded with Major General Lanka Amarapala signing the Visitors’ Book, where he expressed his appreciation for the professionalism, dedication, and high standards maintained by the regiment.

The event was further graced by the presence of Brigadier F Joseph USP, Centre Commandant of the SLE, Brigadier KASJ Kodithuwakku USP ptsc, Commander of the Plant Engineer Brigade.
