STRENGTHENING VETERAN SUPPORT: CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS DONATES RS. 01 MILLION TO THE SRI LANKA ARMY ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION

The President and Executive Committee members of the Sri Lanka Army Engineers Association called on Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers for a donation, on Thursday, 13th June 2025, at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

During this occassion, the Colonel Commmandant presented a cash donation of Rs. 01 Million to the Sri Lanka Army Engineers Association. This donation marks the second installment of a total pledged amount of Rs. 02 Million, with the first installment of Rs. 01 Million having been handed over during the latter half of 2024. The donation is aimed at supporting the Association's ongoing welfare projects for the benefit of Sapper veterans and their families.

The event also included fruitful discussions on the Association’s long-term vision and ongoing activities. Major General D D U K Hettiarachchi (Retired) RSP VSV USP ndu psc, President of the Association, Brigadier D B P K Elikewela (Retired), Vice President (Administration and Welfare), and Brigadier S J M A R Senavirathne (Retired) RWP RSP psc, Secretary, briefed Major General Lanka Amarapala on various projects aligned with the welfare and upliftment of retired members of the Corps.

This gesture by the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers signifies their enduring commitment and heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by their retired brethren.
