A joint helping hand, lent by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit and the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) Army Seva Vanitha Branch to the father of a battle-hardened War Hero enabled the former to undergo surgery for replacement of eye lens as the father was fast losing the vision.
The replacement of the surgery cost Rs 52,300 which was jointly sponsored by the aforesaid donors. The surgery was conducted on Thursday (03) at the Denetha Eye Care Centre.
