Seva Vanitha President Jointly Provides Essentials to Girls’ Home

Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Chairperson, Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard Seva Vanitha Units at the invitation of SLNG Seva Vanitha members joined the donation of essential study materials, stationeries, dry rations, hygienic needs and a TV set to the Sputnik Girls’ Home in Kurunegala on Sunday (3) as part of welfare projects, being carried out by members of the SLNG Seva Vanitha members.

The day’s Chief Guest, Mrs Janaki Liyanage, was warmly welcomed by orphaned girls at the Sputnik Girls’ Home where she was offered a bouquet of flowers on her arrival at the location. The day’s proceedings were inaugurated after the traditional coconut oil lamp was lit by Mrs Janaki Liyanage. Thereafter, the Children of the Sputnik Girls Home, presented their talents in colorful entertaining events.

The essential items, worth of Rs 1 million, inclusive of stationeries, study materials, personal hygiene items, dry rations for one month as well as a LED TV were donated by the President at this special occasion. A delicious lunch treat was also offered to those inmates and the staff at the Sputnik Girls’ Home.

The SLNG Center Commandant, several Officers at the Regimental Center also attended the community-oriented occasion.
