The 27th Annual General Meeting of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanita Branch (VIR - SVB) was held under the guidance of Mrs. Himali Pussella, Chairperson, VIR - SVB on September 9, 2023 at the VIR Regimental HQ.
Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, Colonel of the Regiment, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force supported its conduct and attended it as a special invitee.
The Chairperson delivered a meaningful speech, emphasizing the need for unity among all members and the cultivation of positive attitudes to achieve VIR - SVB objectives effectively.
Furthermore, a donation of school accessories also took place for the children of 21 war hero families facing financial difficulties. Additionally, a financial donation worth Rs 30,000.00 was provided to purchase the machinery, required for self-employment of a Corporal who had his legs amputated above the ankle due to a terrorist anti-personnel mine during the humanitarian operation before May 2009.
Finally, Lieutenant Colonel H.D.C. Silva RWP RSP USP psc delivered a lecture on 'Social Etiquettes' to all attendees. The arrangement culminated in a fellow - dinner treat.
