The Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch (SLE - SVB) took the initiative of organizing the Sappers’ Retro Musical Concert, 'Evergreens of the 70s,' at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on Saturday (21 October).
This event was organized in order to raise funds for the welfare of families of fallen War Heroes, differently able War Heroes and those serving Officer and Other Ranks.
This mega event got underway following guidelines given by Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaitivu and Colonel Commandant of SLE.
Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena, Chairperson, SLE - SVB took the lead in organizing the project with the support of Seva Vanitha members and all in the SLE Regimental HQ.
The musical concert sparkled with performances, presented by members of the musical band of Chandimal Fernando, featuring 16 popular vocalists from the Sri Lankan music industry since the 1970s. The dancing group of Chandana Wickramasinghe added colour to the event.
