On the occasion of the 74th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SLEME), a substantial stock of exercise books for the year 2024 was distributed among 2983 children of Army personnel of the SLEME.
The symbolic distribution took place on Wednesday (29 November) at Defence Services' College premises. This initiative was launched under the guidance of Mrs Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLEME - SVB).
During the event, scholarships were awarded to 24 students who excelled in the Grade 5 scholarship examination. Additionally, scholarships were granted to 2 students who had gained admission to government universities assuring a sum of Rs 12,500.00 for each semester.
