SLEME Seva Vanitha Ladies Constructs another House for a Soldier in Need

Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLEME-SVB) together with a group of philanthropists constructed and vested in another new house to a Senior Non-commissioned officer serving under SLEME, residing at Induruwa, Galle on Wednesday (07 February 2024).

The construction was implemented following the conceptual layout of the Commander of the Army and the directions of Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) by Mrs. Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson of SLEME-SVB under welfare projects.

In addition, Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of ASVU together with Mrs. Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson of SLEME-SVB gifted electric accessories and dry rations for the new house during the same event.

Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of SLEME supervised the project and troops of SLEME Base Workshop - Katubedda extended the much required expertise and technical assistance for the construction. A group of philanthropists provided the generous sponsorships for the house.

The President of ASVU graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest together with Chairperson of SLEME-SVB. Deputy Chief of Staff, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in the event.
