Sri Lanka Armoured Corps - Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAC-SVB) recently conducted its annual book donation program across various unit locations, spearheaded by Mrs. Samangka Fernando, the Chairperson, SLAC-SVB.
Commencing on 06 January 2024 at 4 SLAC, the initiative reached 368 school children of Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff, providing them with essential school accessories for the upcoming term. Additionally, 19 children expected to enter grade 01 in 2024 received Rs. 2000.00 worth of gift vouchers for school supplies.
Continuing the effort, another donation took place on 11 January 2024 at 7 (V) SLAC, benefitting 299 children of Other Ranks and civil staff with essential school aid packs.
On 13 January 2024, 1 SLAC assisted 404 children of Other Ranks and civil staff with necessary school accessories, while 6 SLAC supported 487 children of Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff with books and stationery items. Additionally, 397 students received school aid packs and 241 students in grades 1 to 6 were provided with school bags.
These events were made possible through the financial contributions of SLAC-SVB's Chairperson, its members and generous philanthropists.
