The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW - SVB) organised a special commemorative ceremony, "Ranaviru Mapiyawandana - 2025", on 14 and 15 June 2025 in Anuradhapura to honour the parents of fallen war heroes, under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, Chairperson of the GW - SVB.
During the programme, the parents engaged in a pilgrimage to the Sri Maha Bodhiya and attended a Dharma sermon at Ruwanweli Maha Seya, followed by a formal commemorative ceremony at the Gajaba Regiment Headquarters. As part of the spiritual journey, visits were also made to Thuparamaya and Jethawanaramaya.
The ceremony included a heartfelt video tribute, presentation of mementoes, and a Help Desk session to address the concerns of the parents.
Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
