A book donation programme was successfully conducted by the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW–SVB) for the children of St. Peter’s College, Thalawila, Kalpitiya, on 30 December 2025.
This meaningful initiative aimed at supporting schoolchildren who were adversely affected by Cyclone Ditvah, which caused significant disruptions to their daily lives and educational activities.
The programme was made possible through the generous contribution of Dr. Melani Wijesooriya, who donated books and stationery items worth Rs. 300,000.00 in support of this noble cause.
Mrs. Shihani Abeywardana, Chairperson of the GW–SVB, senior officers, officers and other ranks, participated in the event.
