In line with the 29th Anniversary of the Special Forces (SF), the Special Forces Seva Vanitha Branch (SF–SVB) organised a donation programme to assist children from families of Special Forces members impacted by the Ditwa Cyclone on 4 January 2026 at the SF Regimental Centre.
During the programme, 59 children received essential school supplies, including school bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, books, stationery, toys and sanitary napkins, amounting to a total value of Rs. 650,000. In addition, emergency equipment was donated by Rev. Mugunuwela Anuruddha Thero to be utilised for future emergency requirements.
Mrs. Vindya Welenawewa, Chairperson of the SF–SVB, Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc, Colonel of the Regiment, SF, members of the SF–SVB, senior officers, officers and other ranks, participated in the event.
