As part of another phase of welfare programmes initiated by the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), a medical equipment donation programme was successfully held on 27 January 2026 at the Regional Hospital, Udupila, Delgoda, with the aim of improving healthcare facilities while enhancing the welfare of the civilian population.
The programme was carried out under the guidance of Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, the President of the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit, reflecting the Unit’s continued commitment to support community healthcare services. The event was attended by the District Medical Officer, Dr. Digakega Perera, along with members of the hospital staff.
In line with the guidance of the President ASVU, one hospital bed with a mattress was donated to cater to the needs of respiratory patients at the Regional Hospital. Furthermore, adult diapers, bed sheets and serums were also donated in support of the daily treatment requirements of patients at the MH-BJP Hospital.
The Colonel – Coordinating Senior Officer of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Senior Officers, Officers, and a group of Other Ranks also took part in the programme.
