GW–SVB Conducts Third Phase of Disaster Relief Initiative

The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW–SVB) conducted the third phase of its disaster relief initiative following the impact of the Ditwah cyclone, which severely affected Army personnel. The dry ration pack distribution was held on 20 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre.

During the event, dry ration packs were presented to respective Commanding Officers in the presence of Senior Officers and GW–SVB members, with a view to later distribution among 212 other ranks and civil employees.

The programme was carried out under the guidance of Mrs. Shihani Abeywardhana, Chairperpns of the GW–SVB and the supervision of Major General A.M.A. Abeywardhana WWV RWP RSP ndc, Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch.
