The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch (GW-SVB) conducted a book and dry ration packs donation programme on 31 January 2026 at the Regimental Headquarters of the Gemunu Watch.
A total of 1,072 children of soldiers and civilian employees received book packs valued at Rs. 2.5 million during the programme.
Subsequently, dry ration packs allocated by the GW–SVB for soldiers affected by the Ditwah Cyclone were symbolically handed over to the respective Commanding Officers of the Gemunu Watch battalions.
The programme was carried out under the guidance of Mrs. Shihani Abeywardhana, Chairperson of GW-SVB, and under the guidance of Major General A.M.A. Abeywardhana WWV RWP RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 58 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch.
Members of the GW-SVB, senior officers, officers, other ranks, civil employees and children participated in the event.
