An eye clinic and spectacle distribution programme was conducted on 14 February 2026 at Sri Vijayaraja Temple, Thabbowa, benefiting low income families in surrounding area, under the patronage of Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage, Chairperson of the Gajaba Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (GR-SVB).
The programme was generously sponsored by Mr. Upul Samarasekera, a Sri Lankan citizen residing in the United Kingdom while the technical assistance was provided by Mr Dasantha Fonseka, Chairman of Vision Care Opticals (Pvt) Ltd.
During the programme, eye examinations were carried out and spectacles were distributed to 260 deserving civilians. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians participated in the event.
