A financial assistance programme to uplift the living standards of needy Commando members was held at the Commando Regiment Non-Commissioned Officers' Club, Ganemulla on 18 February 2026. The programme was organised under the guidance of Mrs. Samindi Wickramaratne the Chairperson of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch and Major General K.H.M.S. Wickramaratne RSP, the Master General of Ordnance and Regimental Commander of the Commando Regiment.
The ceremony was attended by Major General K.H.M.S. Wickramaratne RSP, the Master General of Ordnance and Regimental Commander of the Commando Regiment, Mrs. Samindi Wickramaratne, Chairperson of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Major General H.D.L.S. Perera RWP RSP ndc, Deputy Commander, Security Force Headquarters (West), Mrs. Randima Perera, Vice Chairperson of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch and the Deputy Centre Force Executive of the Regimental Centre, among other officers.
At this short ceremony organised by the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, seven Non-Commissioned Officers of the Commando Regiment were presented with financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- each.
