CR-SVB Conducts Welfare Programmes

The Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (CR-SVB) conducted a welfare programme in line with the 46th Anniversary of the Commando Regiment at the Maroon Legacy Hall, Commando Regiment, Ganemulla on 29 March 2026.

During the programme, 34 students, who excelled in G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination and Grade Five Scholarship Examination, received medals, certificates and gift packs. In parallel, financial assistance of Rs. 100,000/- was provided to the spouse of late Senior Non-Commissioned Officer to support her medical requirements following a recent accident.

Further, CR-SVB donated stationery items to the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit for use in Viru Kekulu Pre-Schools. As part of the programme, gift packs were distributed among 750 children of Commando Regiment personnel and civil staff, while 60 gift packs were symbolically presented during the ceremony.

Major General K.H.M.S. Wickramaratne RSP, Master General Ordnance and Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment, Mrs Samindi Wickramaratne, Chairperson of CR-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers, members of CR-SVB, Other Ranks and children participated in the event.
