The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Branch (SLCMP-SVB) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival on 28 April 2026 at the Regimental Centre of SLCMP, Polhengoda.
The event was graced by Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of SLCMP as the Chief Guest together with Mrs. Iroshini Fernando, Chairperson of SLCMP-SVB.
Throughout the day, participants enjoyed a wide array of traditional and entertaining New Year games, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. The beautifully constructed “Gemi Gedara”. In addition, special gifts were distributed among all the children who participated in the event. The celebration concluded with lunch.
Senior officers, members of the SLCMP-SVB, Officers, Other Ranks, civil staff members along with their family members attended the event.
