With a financial grant of Rs. 1.5 million from the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), and under the supervision of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (CR-SVB), a new house was constructed for a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Commando Regiment at Nikahatikanda, Weyangoda, on 29 May 2026.
Representing the Commander of the Army and the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Major General H.D.L.S. Perera RWP RSP ndc, Commander of 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, together with Mrs. Randima Perera, Chairperson of the CR-SVB.
Following the housewarming ceremony, the beneficiary soldier was presented with electrical appliances and dry ration packs containing essential household items.
Members of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
