Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps Conducts Book Donation and Welfare Programme

A book donation and welfare programme was conducted on 24 June 2026 at the Regimental Centre SLAWC, Borella, under the guidance of Mrs. Sachetha Hewage, Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps (SVB-SLAWC).

During the programme, dry ration packs were distributed to civilian employees, while infant care essentials were presented to pregnant soldiers. A donation of 200 books, generously sponsored by Mr. K.C.W. Wakista and coordinated by Colonel W.W.M. Wekadapola USP psc IG, was also distributed among representatives of 1 SLAWC, 2 SLAWC, 3 SLAWC and 7 SLAWC to promote reading habits, enhance professional knowledge and encourage continuous learning.

Mrs. Sachetha Hewage graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior officers, officers, other ranks and civilian employees attended the programme.
