The Corps of Engineer Services Seva Vanitha Branch (CES-SVB) conducted a School Accessories Donation and School Renovation Programme at Manakada Primary School, Puwakpitiya, on 23 July 2026 under the guidance of Mrs. Dilrukshi Dharmapala, Chairperson of the CES-SVB.
During the programme, 14 students from low-income families representing Grades 1 to 5 were presented with school bags, exercise books, stationery and other essential educational items. Teaching aids and several other essential resources required by the school were also donated. The programme concluded with a tea reception.
In parallel with the donation programme, troops of the 1 Engineer Services Regiment carried out renovation work to the school's office building, providing a more conducive and pleasant working environment for the staff.
The initiative was organised with the objective of assisting deserving schoolchildren while enhancing the school's learning environment through the collective efforts of the CES-SVB and troops of the 1 Engineer Services Regiment.
