 ASVU Offers Medical Help to Sick Daughter of a Soldier

On hearing that the daughter of a soldier in the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps was suffering from a chronic spinal disease which can be cured after an expensive surgery, the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) decided to make a financial contribution towards the cost of the surgery on the instructions of Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, ASVU. 

Medical experts attending to the sick daughter has intimated her father that the life-saving surgery would cost the family about Rs. 2 m. However, the ASVU has come forward to help this sick daughter with the financial contribution of Rs 250,000/=. 

A cheque to this effect was handed over to the father of the sick daughter on Friday (15) after inviting him to the ASVU at the Army Headquarters.  

The president, ASVU together with Mrs Dananjani Karunasekara, Vice President, ASVU, Mrs Kamani Palihakkara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Unit took part in the occasion.
