 ASVU Offers Christmas Treat to Inmates at Mulleriyawa

Members of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), led by the ASVU President, Mrs Chandrika Senanayake offered a Christmas treat to the inmates in the ASVU - maintained Ward No 6 in the Mulleriyawa Mental Hospital for Women on Tuesday (12).

At the invitation of Mrs Ruwini Sujeewa Wickramarathna, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Mrs Chandrika Senanayake attended as the Chief Guest for the arrangements.

Mrs Chandrika Senanayake and the ASVU group were welcomed by Mrs Ruwini Sujeewa Wickramaratne, Chairperson, SLSR-SVU, accompanied by the inmate in Ward No 6 on arrival at the premises.

Afterwards, Ms Pramila Sri Kanthi Perera, Matron in charge of the Ward No 6 delivered the welcome address.

All the inmates during the Christmas party received gift parcels, containing clothes, confectionaries, daily essentials, etc from Mrs Chandrika Senanayake during this special occasion.

Towards the end of the programme, Santa Claus went on distributing compliments to the music provided by the SLSR Music Band.

Mrs Dananjani Karunasekara, Vice President, ASVU and Chairperson, Sri Lanka Light Infantry – SVU, Mrs Shiromi Liyanage, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps-SVU, Mrs Priyangani Jayasundara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Artillery-SVU, Mrs Arosha Wijesinghe, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Signal Corps-SVU, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, Chairperson, Gajaba Regiment-SVU, Mrs Thanuja Dias, Chairperson, Military Intelligence Corps-SVU, Mrs Priyadarshani Sirinaga, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers-SVU, Mrs Kamani Palihakkara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps-SVU, Lieutenant Colonel Nalindra Mahavithana, Staff Officer 1, ASVU, members of the ASVU and a few Army officers attended the arrangement.
