 ASVU President Greets Pakistan Army Chief's Spouse

Mrs Ayesha Amjad, the spouse of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, now in Sri Lanka was hosted to a grand reception by Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) after she was invited to the Viru Kekulu pre-school premises at Manning Town, Narahenpita this morning (16).

A colorfully-dressed kid, offering bouquets welcomed the visiting Mrs Ayesha Amjad, before Mrs Chandrika Senanayake formally received her to the occasion.

Afterwards the visiting, Mrs Ayesha Amjad was conducted to the venue amid melodies, played by Army cultural dancing, troupe together with Ves Dancers.  

A meeting attended by the membership of the ASVU welcomed the visiting spouse of General Javed Bajwa and explained the ASVU roles to her. Mrs Senanayake presented a memento to Mrs Ayesha Amjad during the meeting and wished her good luck with her future assignments.  Mrs Ayesha Amjad reciprocated the gesture and did not forget to sign in the Visitor’s Book.

Kids of Viru Kekulu pre-school, managed by the ASVU displayed their multifaceted artistic talents before the distinguished gathering, inclusive of Seva Vanitha senior members, teachers and other attendees. Songs, dancing and other features, presented on the occasion attracted the visiting Pakistan delegates who heaped lots of praise on those kids and their teachers.

Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, ASVU, Mrs Anusha Fernando, Secretary, ASVU, Mrs Manisha Vidyananda, Officer In-charge for Pre-school, Staff Officer 1, ASVU and several senior ASVU members were associated with the day's programme.
