Mrs. Ayesha Amjad, the spouse of the visiting Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, together with Mrs Nazia Liftikar, the spouse of the Brigadier Hassan Chauhadary and Mrs Shehnaz Ali, the spouse of the Defence Attaché, Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka on arrival at the ‘Mihindu Seth Medura’ was warmly received by Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, ASVU in the company of Director Rehabilitation, Brigadier Shantha Thirunavukarasu, Commandant, ‘Mihindu Seth Medura’, Colonel Pradeep Gunawardena.

She was later on conducted to the main auditorium for a simple reception in a clourful procession of traditional dancers after offering of a floral bouquet to her by a wheelchair ridden inmate at the entrance.

A presentation on MSM projects and future roles and tasks, produced by the Staff Officer 1 enlightened the visiting lady of the Chief of Pakistan Army who afterwards made inquiries into various aspects of those projects.  She saw for herself how the MSM looks after those inmates in the company of the ASVU President visiting MSM wards, before she was invited to signify the visit by placing her signature in the VIP book at the MSM.

Exchange of mementos towards the end of the day's programme occurred as symbols of goodwill and friendship between both ladies' clubs in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Intermittent entertaining features of the Army cultural troupe provided variety to the occasion. Five differently-able inmates sang a Pakistani song and entertained the inmates.
