 Warm Reception for Nepali Army Chief's Wife at 'Viru Kekulu' Pre-School

Mrs Rita Chhetri, President, Army Wives Association of the Nepalese Army and the spouse of the visiting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Nepali Army, General Rajendra Chhetri, now in Sri Lanka at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart was hosted to a red carpet welcome on Thursday (18) after she was invited to the 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school premises at Manning Town, Narahenpita by Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU).

A student from the Manning Town 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school, offering bouquets welcomed the visiting Mrs Ayesha Amjad, before Mrs Chandrika Senanayake formally received her to the occasion.

Afterwards the visiting, Mrs Rita Chhetri was conducted to the pre-school premises by the President, ASVU.

A cordial meeting that followed was attended by several Senior ASVU members who welcomed the visiting spouse of General Rajendra Chhetri. A senior ASVU member   briefed Mrs Rita Chhetri on ASVU roles and assignments and explained about the projects, being carried out by the ASVU. Towards the end of the interaction, Mrs Senanayake presented a memento and wished her good luck with her future assignments.  Mrs Rita Chhetri reciprocated the gesture and did not forget to sign the ASVU Visitors' Book.

During the same occasion, pre-school kids displayed their artistic talents before the day's Chief Guest and the distinguished gathering, inclusive of Mrs Chandrika Senanayake and Mrs Dananjani Karunasekara, Vice President, ASVU, Mrs Manisha Vidyananda, Lady In-charge of the pre-school, senior Seva Vanitha members, teachers and other invitees attended the reception.

Songs, dancing and other features, presented on the occasion attracted the visiting Nepali delegates who heaped lots of praise on those kids and their teachers.
