 Panagoda 'Viru Kekulu' to Move into a Spacious Building

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU)-managed ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school at Panagoda is to be geared to absorb more and more kids in future after construction of a new two-storied building with eight new classrooms.

On Thursday (17) at the auspicious minute, Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, ASVU as the Chief Guest, together with several ASVU ladies cut the first sod and laid the cornerstone for its construction.

 The Chief Guest to the occasion, Mrs Chandrika Senanayake was welcomed with a sheaf of betel by two pre-school kids before she laid the cornerstone amid 'Seth Pirith' chanting of the Maha Sangha at the auspicious 10.11 a.m.

Mrs Anusha Fernando, ASVU Vice President and the Chairperson of the Gemunu Watch-Seva Vanitha Unit,  Mrs Anuja Kariyakarawana, ASVU Deputy Secretary and Chairperson, Vijaybahu Infantry Regiment - Seva Vanitha Unit. Senior Seva Vanitha member in charge of the ‘Viru Kekeulu’ pre-school and Mrs Shiromi Liyanage, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Seva Vanitha Unit, Staff Officer 1 at ASVU, Senior Army Officers and pre-school kids took part in the event.
