11 DIV COMPLETES EIGHT YEARS.

11 Division which is under command to Security Forces Headquarters (Central), celebrated the 8th anniversary of the Division. A series of programmes were launched with the supervision of Major General A W M A W N Ranawana RWP RSP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division in order to celebrate the event.

On 14 February 2018 Gilanpasa Pooja and next day alms were offered to the Tooth Relic of Dalanda Maligawa to invoke blessings for the Div Flag.

On 15 February 2018 a Guard Turnout and Gourd of honour was accorded to the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division by the 5 Battalion (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry. That was followed by an all rank lunch.

Further, on 19 February 2018 an overnight Pirith Chanting was held and next day an Alms Giving was also taken place for 63 Buddhist monks.

According to a concept of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, on 20 February 2018 lunch was provided to 47 destitute students of Dharmashoka Vidyalaya, Lewella in Kandy who have lost their parents. Further, school uniforms and shoes were also gifted to these students under the patronage of retired Major Deepal Subasinghe who was a senior officer in the Sri Lanka Army.
