12 Infantry Division bid farewell to the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc on Wednesday, 04 June 2025, at the Division Headquarters.
The Senior officer was awarded with a Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Hounour by the troops of 18 Battalion the Gamunu Watch. To mark the event GOC posed for a group photograph with the officers of the division and planted a sapling. In line with military formalities the outgoing GOC declared open newly constructed dining hall and the bar of Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ mess of 12 Infantry Division Headquarters. Later, the troops were addressed by the General Officer Commanding and he interacted with the officers and other ranks during the all ranks tea.
The farewell proceedings continued on 05 June 2025, when Officers and Other Ranks of the 12 Infantry Division Headquarter formed a street line, extending their heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Major General WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc.
