12 INFANTRY DIVISION CELEBRATES ITS 12TH ANNIVERSARY

On the occasion of the 12th Anniversary of 12 Infantry Division, a series of events and programs were organized on the guidance of Major General Mihindu Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding 12 Infantry Division

In line with celebration, troops organized a ‘shramadana campaign’ to clean the sides of the road from Heafquarters 12 Infantry Division camp to Katuwewa junction on 27 March 2023. Both Officers and Troops played in the Cricket tournament that was organized on 28 and 29 March 2023. The following day (on 30 March 2023) troops offered delicious lunch for 17 special need children and donated essential goods and equipment at the Kanchadeva Children’s Home in Siribopura, Hambantota

The anniversary day’s proceedings began with a colorful guard turnout at the entrance, tree planting, and the opening of a newly constructed gymnasium. Afterward, the General Officer Commanding addressed the troops. Finally, the troops participated in the all ranks lunch. Moreover, offered almsgiving to Katuwewa temple on 02 April 2023

Finally, a musical show inside the camp premises was conducted on 08 April 2023. Commander Security Forces Central Major General Mohan Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu graced the occasion as the chief guest
