3 SLSR TROOPS DOUSED WILD FIRE

The prevailing dry weather condition in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) is the reason behind many disasters in forest areas. Specially, the wild fire is occurred and it rapidly spreads destroying acres of forests. There, the troops under command to SF (Cen) are taking a great effort to control such situations

Another sudden fire occurred in Millapitiya area in Walapane Divisional Secretariat in the Nuwara Eliya District on 21 July 2018. Since this area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central), the troops of 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) were tasked to control the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG

Accordingly, one officer and twenty soldiers reached the place immediately and doused the wild fire completely
