On the conceptual directions of Commander of the Army, troops are in the process of implementing house construction projects to provide shelters for deserving families over the island.
In line with the mega project, troops of 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, under 12 Infantry Division, made initiatives to construct a new house for Mr. K K Athula Kumara and his family in Sella Katharagama Grama Nilidhari Division, Katharagama. Accordingly, the cornerstone for the construction was set by Major General C S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG, General Officer Commanding 12 Infantry Division on 24 February 2024.
The simple ceremony was witnessed by the Nr. Dishan Gunasekara, Basnayake Nilame of Ruhunu Maha Katharagama Devalaya and Mr. Hirosh Jayathilaka, the sponsor for the construction.
