ARMY TROOPS ASSIST IN DOUSING FIRE AT SHAKTHI FIRECRACKER FACTORY, PALLEKELE

Responding to a request made by the Disaster Management Centre, troops under the 11 Infantry Division, acting on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, promptly engaged in firefighting operations to control a sudden fire that broke out at the Shakthi Firecracker Factory within the Pallekele Industrial Zone on 5 November 2025

A 18 members of Army team, together with a water bowser, was quickly deployed to the location and actively assisted in extinguishing the fire in close coordination with the Sri Lanka Air Force, the Police and Fire brigade.
