On the direction of Commander Security Force (Central) Major General Mohan Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu, troops under Security Force Headquarters joined in an awareness lecture on 'Prevention of illicit drugs and drug addiction' conducted at the Torch Cinema in Diyatalawa on 10 May 2023.
The valued lecture was delivered by Brigadier (Doctor) Roshan Monaragala USP, Consultant Psychiatrist and Director of Preventive Medicine & Mental Health Services from Army Headquarters. He was assisted by two professional Officers to conduct the lecture focussed on preventing the use of illicit substance and kinds of drugs. Troops were educated on the prevention of illicit drug usage in the Army and the repercussions of using drugs, narcotics, and illicit substances.
A number of 30 Officers and 300 Other Ranks representing Army establishments, Training schools and Battalions in and around the headquarters participated in the session.
