CENTRAL TROOPS CONTINUE FIGHT AGAINST WILDFIRES

Troops under Security Force (Central), who have been contributing to douse wildfires during past weeks, rushed to control fires ignited in Marassana and Kaluambatenna areas during the afternoon hours on 07 August 2023.

On the guidance of Commander Security Force (Central) Major General WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, troops attached to security force headquarters - Diyatalawa made their way to douse the wildfires at Kaluambatenna area, whilst troops of 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under 11 Infantry Division in Kandy rushed to control wildfires sparked in Pasgama area in Marassana.

The solid efforts of army firefighters were able to save acres of vegetation from wildfires in above areas, and no damages to civilian lives or properties were reported.
