Troops based in Kandy, under command to Security Force (Central), made rapid response to douse forest fire occurred in Thalagune area, Ududumbara during the morning hours on 18 July 2023
On the directions of Commander Security Force (Centrral), Major General WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, troops belong to 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry assisted the members of Sri Lanka Police and Disaster Management Centre, to control the intensifying forest fire that burnt flora over approximately 220 acres
