CENTRAL TROOPS EASE OFF ROAD MOVEMENTS AT BERAGALA

Since the adverse weather circumstances have threatened the livelihood of civilians in central highlands, the vehicular movements were blocked due to another slight earth slip at Bathgoda in Bearagala area along Haputale - Colombo main road during the evening hours on 07 November 2023. This was the consecutive third instance the riad was blocked since 05 November 2023.

In response on the calamitous situation, disaster relief troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) rushed to the scene and assisted the civilians to clear the pathway, and eased off the movements in the main road. During the relief operation the Army troops were given hand by the members of Road Development Authority, Disaster Managemnet Centre and other civil organizations.
