The adverse weather condition prevalent in Haputale area has triggered disastrous circumstances in many places and has threatened the livelihood of civilians. As the unceasing showers arrived in the evening hours on 05 November 2023, the vehicular movements along Haputale - Colombo main road were congested due to a slight earth slip at Bathgoda in Bearagala area.
In response on the calamitous situation, disaster relief troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) rushed to the scene and assisted the civilians to clear the pathway, and reinstated the movements in the main road, during the morning hours on 06 November 2023.
