The foundation stone was laid for a holiday bungalow in Nuwara Eliya, in order that the officers and their families can spend vacations in the central highlands. The picturesque surrounding fully fledged with charming beauty and the cool climes urged to commence the constructions in Nuwara Eliya. Further, this bungalow is constructed in the premises of 3(V) Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). On 02 July 2020 at an auspicious time, the foundation stone was laid by the Commander of the Army. Following that, the Commander visited the construction site of three story holiday bungalow complex which is located in Hawaeliya, Nuwara Eliya for middle grade and senior Officers in the Army.
The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General W M J R K Senarathne RWP RSP, Director Engineer Services, the Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade, Brigadier E A P Ediriweera RWP, Commanding Officer of 3(V) Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment and Senior Officers participated in this occasion. Moreover, the Commander of the Army had a cordial discussion with the architects of the project.
