A reforestation programme was organized by the MTV Network under “Sirasa Gammadde Programme” intending to protect the nature through replanting trees at a selected location in Fox hill area which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 29 February 2020.
The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu participated in this eco friendly programme as the Chief Guest. Moreover, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters as well as under command units also contributed to make this event a success. Further, students of universities as well as schools joined hands with the organizing committee to plant more than 2000 saplings with indigenous value. The contribution of the military personnel for this programme which was organized to protect the nature for future generation was highly appreciated.
