SRI LANKA ARMY RECEIVES BLESSINGS AT SRI DALANDA MALIGAWA FOR 74TH ANNIVERSARY

The second sequential Buddhist religious ceremony to bless the forthcoming 74th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army took place at the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy on 28 September 2023, with the participation of Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.

The parade that carried multi-coloured Army flags of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, all Security Force Headquarters, Forward Maintenance Areas, Divisions, Brigades, Regiments, Training Centres and formations across the country, headed to the upper chamber of the temple premises following the steps of the Commander who carried the Sri Lanka Army flag. The procession delivered the flags to the monks in charge of 'Thevava' and invoked blessings on the long journey of the Defenders of the Nation amidst chanting Seth Pirith and observences.
