A sudden fire occurred in Diwithotawela area in the Badulla District in the evening on 12 June 2018. The mentioned area is located within Security Forces (Central) responsible area and the troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) controlled the fire on the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG.
Just after the incident reported, a team consisting of one officer and fifteen soldiers have rushed to the place in the late evening to assist the civil authorities. Consequent to the prompt actions taken by the troops, the wild fire which was spreading in the area was completely doused within a short period. The reason for the fire has not been revealed yet.
