The train operations along the Badulla to Colombo line were distrupted by an earth slip near Diyatalawa station during the morning hours on 17 November 2023.
On the notice of the incident, troops at Security Force Headquarters Central, rushed to the scene and removed the earth mounds and rocks that had collapsed to the rail track. Army disaster responders were assisted by the railway members and civilians to clear the blocked rail passage.
